Motorized Sanitary Butterfly Valve Applications & Features

Motorized Sanitary Butterfly Valve Description:

There is a type of valve widely used in the sanitary industry called the sanitary butterfly valve. This type of valve is called a butterfly valve not because of its shape, but because it has a relatively simple structure, is convenient to operate, looks compact, and is flexible. This device is called a sanitary butterfly valve because the butterfly is also a small and flexible insect.

A motorized sanitary butterfly valve is a stainless steel butterfly valve that is operated by an electric actuator. The valve is also known as a food-grade motorized butterfly valve or a hygienic electric butterfly valve. The food sanitary electric butterfly valves are widely used in food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, clean steam, alcohol, beverages, and biochemical industries.

Electric sanitary butterfly valves have precision polished and sterilized flow channels, sealed with PTFE, and easy-to-clean corners. A standard electronic polishing process is used on the valve body. Smooth surfaces ensure cleanliness, no medium storage area, and no potential pollution. Switching and maintaining the tri-clamp end connection is quick, and easy, and reduces downtime.

Food-grade electric butterfly valve features:

  • An innovative design, a reasonable structure, a lightweight, and a quick opening and closing mechanism

  • There is little operating torque, the operation is convenient, and it is labor-saving and dexterous

  • It can be installed in any position, and it is easy to maintain

  • Age-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and long-lasting sealing materials

  • All gaskets are FDA-approved and provide good sealing performance. Better acid, alkali, and high-temperature resistance

  • The device is widely used for process control in various fields, including food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, clean steam, alcohol, beverages, and biochemical industrial processes.

  • According to the type of connection, here are the types of electric butterfly valves for food-grade applications:

  • Butterfly valve made of food-grade tri-clamps

  • The Butt Weld Butterfly Valve is made of food-grade steel

  • Butterfly valve made from food-grade threads

  • This is a food-grade threaded x-nut butterfly valve

  • Flanged butterfly valve made of food-grade material

  • Wafer-type butterfly valve made of food-grade materials

The installation and maintenance of sanitary butterfly valves:

  • When installing the valve disc, it should be stopped in the closed position.

  • The butterfly plate's rotation angle should be used to determine the opening position.

  • Before opening a butterfly valve with a bypass valve, the bypass valve must be opened.

  • According to the manufacturer's instructions, the heavy butterfly valve should be installed on a firm foundation, and it should be installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  • A butterfly valve's butterfly plate is mounted in the pipeline's diameter direction. A disc-shaped butterfly plate rotates in the cylindrical channel of the butterfly valve body at an angle between 0° and 90°. Upon reaching 90°, the valve is fully opened.

  • Choosing the right size and type of butterfly valve is essential if the valve is going to be used as a flow control. A butterfly valve has a unique structure that makes it especially suitable for large-diameter valves. In addition to their use in general industries such as petroleum, gas, chemical, and water treatment, butterfly valves are also widely used in thermal power station cooling water systems.

  • A wafer and flange butterfly valve is a commonly used butterfly valve. With stud bolts, the wafer butterfly valve is connected to two pipe flanges.
